The number of young people from our congregation who have gone on to be ministers, seminarians, youth workers, church musicians, bulletin editors or deeply-involved leaders is astonishing. Almost all of them will tell you of a retreat experience that shaped their faith and the direction of their lives.
The fall retreats at Laurelville and Jumonville are coming up. The cost of these retreats will average about $130 per student. Unfortunately, some parents just cannot afford to send their children. The congregation’s Youth Ministry never wants to turn a kid away from a life changing experience. If you want to invest in the future and are able to scholarship or partially scholarship a student this year please contact Debbie Tobias at (412) 655-2000 ext 131.
A weekly time of worship designed for young adults but open to all will be offered Tuesdays this summer beginning in June. Come for a time of meditation and worship. If interested please contact Tim Comer (tim@pleasanthillschurch.com), or Jonathan Wagner (jwagner@pts.edu). Times and dates to be announced.
Wayne Wicks describes the mission trip, what they did, where they stayed, and the tremendous need for volunteers. After reading this article, you might be interested in going on one of the upcoming mission trips! Read the rest of this entry »
Being an IHN host congregation allows us to live out the message of the Gospel and call of Jesus to ministry:
“…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…Truly, I tell you, as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matt. 25:35,40)
The Trustees have decided for purposes of building security that beginning June 1st entry doors around the building will be open from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm only. After 4:30 p.m., only the double glass main doors (off the upper parking lot) into the Worship and Activities Center will be open until 10 p.m. when the entire building is locked for the night. Groups and individuals using the building in the evenings should take note of this and share this information with others. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Adult classes will run concurrently with the children’s Vacation Bible School — for the kid in all of us. The classes will be offered from 6-8 pm in two sessions, with two options for each session. Tuesday night will be “game night.” A $1 dinner will be served before the classes.
This year’s PHCPC Vacation Bible School, “SonForce Kids” will run from June 22nd to the 26th from 6 pm to 8 pm. A $1 dinner for the entire family will preceed the Vacation Bible School at 5 pm. Read the rest of this entry »
